Driving down Friday morning with my 27 yo son. He's never been able to grasp the IU fandom, when there were, you know, good teams to cheer for! Cig has him buying in and looking forward to the trip! Headed to a buddys house to unload then Marta down to the game area. Hoping to meet folks for a drink beforehand, but this is my first game since about 1989-90 and I want to get to the stadium early, watch warmups and take it in.
Does anyone that is familiar with the area around the stadium have any recommendations for a decent meal and some drinks (preferably no fentanyl lacing involved)?

I bought Narcan at Costco, so don't worry too much about the fentanyl. I've got everyone covered.
I stayed down there a couple of years ago when we played Auburn, but can't remember the name of the bar we pregamed at or the steakhouse where we had dinner. @kkott or @doggy1 do either of you remember the bar where we had lunch? I thought it was pretty good and they had a slew of taps to go with a killer bloody mary.
Stats is the bar that began my personal descent into what would end up being the worst hangover I've had in years. Hudson Grill was the steakhouse. Another place dog reminded me about was Der Biergarten.

Noon arrival for my brother, dad, and myself…Hoosiers takeover ATL!
We will be in the IU section in 113
@hooky I don't, but I have an awful memory. Just searching the area, I think we ate lunch at Twin Smokers and maybe had beers at Der Biergarten? I know we could pretty much walk back and forth between where we ate and where we saw you guys. These are the places I found listed near the Centennial park area. Anyone who knows DT Atlanta chime in about a decent place for drinks and food before the game?
STATS Brewpub, Twin Smokers BBQ, Der Biergarten, and Max’s Coal Oven Pizzeria.
@kkott I believe there is an IU Pregame at these spots. It’s $150 for all you can eat and drink for a couple of hours.
- @kkott Thanks. I had been eyeing Der Biergarten. I will keep my eye out for Twin Smokers as well! I figure anywhere will be packed with IU fans so as long as I have lots a beer and that camaraderie, I’m good!
I’d add Hudson Grill as well.@hooky I don't, but I have an awful memory. Just searching the area, I think we ate lunch at Twin Smokers and maybe had beers at Der Biergarten? I forgot you guys ate somewhere else and saw us at Stats after we had lunch.
I'll text you and DanC so we can all get a drink together. I still owe Dan lunch from a HS football bet. Maybe I can get him paid off and clear my conscience. LOL

At the Greensky Bluegrass show, he said you should just buy my son and I dinner and he'd call it even. Swear that's what I heard!
Yeah, I think we started at Stats (if that's where you guys were) and then part of our crew wanted lunch so we walked next door. and think that was the BBQ place.
Heading up from Mobile. Section 106. Go Hoosiers!
I am going to be watching the game at 2:30 am in Norway. A trip planned a year ago. Never again will I plan during playoffs. BUT you have to cheer us to a win so I can fly straight to Miami afterwards. It’s killing me I couldn’t make this or Rose Bowl.
might be sold out, but there are lots of tix available. Norway will be awesome.@evillehoosier8 I think it’s sold out.
