Tundra is not a bad lot… 15 min walk.
If we ever really get some big crowds someday, Woodlawn Field (10th and Woodlawn) could become parking and quite the tailgate spot with its view of campus. Would need some new ingress/egress spots and some work from the grounds crew to cleanup after games, but those fields aren’t so nice you couldn’t park cars there (it’s on a big slope and the grass is pretty long).
Update: This would fit ~1,000 cars, or about 3,000 people.
It's more likely they will turn one of the current lots into a parking garage vs tearing down apartments.

New for the season. People want to tailgate too and it's nearly impossible to do well in a garage. It can be done, but it's not the same (also doubt it's allowed).
no the garage is for them only. Follow along here:
there would be a lot in front along Dunn. This is multi use. A separate garage would be constructed for the new buildings.
I'm aware of the buildings along Dunn now. My nephew lived in one a few years back.
and as far as kicking folks out... wasn't suggesting that but if need be. They do that now for freshman who park in lots on 17th street by assembly hall etc for game days. My daughter had to move each game day when she lived in mcnutt... it's 6 days a year
this is about where I was mentioning behind gamma phi and phi Delt houses. Tree area. Buy it and pave it

they already own it. It’s used for intramural soccer so I don’t think they’re gonna pave it, but it could be used for parking obviously
EDIT: you’re talking about the wooded area. I could be wrong, but I don’t think the topography would support a paved lot there. but I’m not an engineer
it isn't bad ... the disjointed lots all over are a negative to me unless the lot is large enough to create an ambiance for a tailgate / game day vibe. Otherwise I am part of a herd, which game day is enough of a herd.
@gros-louis Those intramural fields look like they may be turf. I don't know, but if it's grass it can totally be used for parking. I doubt that they want too many cars on turf.
So looking at the map and then the parking map. Why not open up the Parking up by the soccer and track fields. Also, if I am a frat or sorority with parking spaces, I am getting someone out there with a sign for $25 parking.
I do know that there are a lot of spots in the reserved lots that have tailgating set up in them so cars cannot use them. Are these spaces paid for? Does anyone even check?

Those lots by soccer are typically where soccer and field hockey park when they’re on the road.
@thehoosierhuddle Frats and sororities are lucky to have enough parking lots for their members, let alone guests. Unless they want to park people in their grass.
@hoosiers94 Oh no. The fratio! You kept me awake many nights with the loud music blasting from there!
