Great motivation for Cig to use... no respect. Just win baby
That may change with the injury report
Thank you for reading Hoosier Huddle
Josh Pate has learned his lesson from last year. He chose IU in front of rabid Nebraska fans because he was 0-5 in his picks against Cignetti last year. This year, hes taking Indiana and Cignetti until they give him a reason not to. Also, his formula showed the Nebraska game was closer than the line suggested....it was clearly right. The game vs OSU actually has IU closer to OSU than the 3.5 line suggests.
Let people pick against IU, it makes it more fun when we win.
That Pate pick had me actually LOL, somehow stumbled across a clip of that on ESPN. When he said that, that he was going to pick Indiana and Cignetti until we lost, because he was 0-for, in his picks against us.
My long time Indiana fan side keeps intruding into my head telling me 'I just hope we don't get whomped... '
AAUGH! Just win, baby!

That's tough to get over after so many years....
I was confident going into the OSU game last year (B1G Championship). I'm not quite there with this team. That's not fair to this team, but I don't think I'm being unrealistic either.

im with you. This is the first game since the OSU game in '24 that I'm not so confident.

hopeful yes, but i can't say i'm ever really confident
too many cuts and scars from years past
@unclemark I get your logic when you are basing it on NW and Nebraska being an average to below avg B1G team this season. I get it, those teams may be just that? However, this game establishes whether or not we have played all 3 of our toughest games of the season, already. A big loss here and we can settle into the idea that we're not the same team. But a win and suddenly we may be the same team as last year and possibly better since we are comparing this years early tough games we played vs last years early easy slate. Like Oregon last year, we need to let this game play out before we start having strong opinions. We know our team will be mentally prepared.
Man, I don't know how as an IU fan you don't believe in this team and staff after the last 2.5 years! Yes, OSU has punked us for decades, but good grief that was not this team and staff, look at how it's been since Cig arrived. Announcing on his first day(s) on the job: Purdue sucks, but so do Michigan and Ohio State! Put your panties back in your wife's drawer and believe until the man gives you a reason not to! Hoosiers 27, Bucknuts 17. GO HOOSIERS!
As long as Ryan Day is on the opposite sideline with that blank stare you have a chance.
People are putting way too much emphasis on the Northwestern and Nebraska games.
This game is very winnable,I think Josh is up to challenge. I’ll be there screaming my lungs out.
OSU lost lots of high dollar D pieces. Their curb dive in the Texas game was revealing. Youthin has a good observation. To me this feels much like before Oregon game last season. IU rushing attack wearing down Bucks DL into 3rd quarter is a force OSU can't overcome. #4 will get his catches but IU limits his access to the EZ.

I am more confident than ever that our D won't get run on, with our interior D-line, edges, and LBers. But yeah, less confident in defending the pass and in us running the ball well.
I'm not expecting a loss by any means, but a win seems tougher than the last one, with Smith being a beast and Sayin maturing.
At least I don't expect the first half officiating to be totally lopsided toward the other team right up until Coach Cig throws a legitimate rant. Unlike the Oregon game.
I'm hoping for once we see some home cookin' . 😉
I expect IU to win by 10-13 points. I expect separation in the fourth quarter to finish them off. We are the better team even though they may have higher individual talent.
See how this prediction holds up tomorrow. Go Hoosiers!
