@drjb Another character home run. I'd love to hear the prospecting, identification and evaluation process for the staff with transfers, and high schoolers for that matter. Not an accident that we end up with so many players who sound so impressive.
...and that's the way it's been since bringing the JMU boys to Bloomington...including the staff...clearly displays Cignetti's bonafides to his business approach...

I haven't yet listened. Anything about gold shoes?

Hope is not optimism, which expects things to turn out well, but something rooted in the conviction that there is good worth working for. - Seamus Heaney, Irish poet and likely Hoosier basketball fan. POTFB

When I was still in business I used a psychological company in St. Louis to test and conduct an interview with each of our execs. They were right on target with every one of them, some who we did not hire because of the results. Those guys have ways to see into one’s soul. I wonder if Cig does something like that?

I'm a big believer in things like that.
We also used to have people take a survey/test to help us understand their strengths and weaknesses, how they needed to be coached, and who they would work best and worst with on a project team.

did it go something like this?
Hooky: “What is your biggest weakness?”
Job Candidate: thinks for a moment and answers “Honesty, honesty is my biggest weakeness.”
Hooky replies: “I don’t think honesty is a weakness!”
Job Candidate: “I really don’t give a fuck what you think!”
I like that better than "I care too much" or "I can't shut work off. I'm always working."
I appreciate the honesty much more. 😁

being able to detect it is the key
Can't bullshit a bullshitter.
