RB Makhi Frazier from Michigan State is currently on campus.
Makhi Frazier, RB from Michigan State is on campus today. Florida and Auburn have shown interest and last week Frazier made a visit to Ohio State. Ran for 520 yards in 2025 and has 2 years of remaining eligibility.
@boogie Can confirm. I think he ends up a Hoosier and the RB room is really, really good next year
I was really hoping for Justice Haynes who I see ended up at GT, but I will trust in the staff evaluation on Frazier. I noticed he only had 1 yard on 7 attempts in MSUs game against us. Haven’t looked any further than that though. Either way I think we are good at RB being 4 deep now.
@olympian97 I saw the Michigan / Michigan State game. That was Frazier's best effort of the season. Against a decent Michigan defense he ran for 109 yards on 14 carries. He looked great against the Wolverines but as you wrote, he certainly wasn't a world beater against IU.

To be fair, there really haven't been many world beaters against our defense this year.
@boogie That's for sure! Had to look it up and saw that Hill from Oregon was the leading running back against the Hoosiers with 86 yards in the Peach Bowl game. Most of that yardage came from a 71 yard run. Joseph, the Old Dominion QB ran for 179.
Are we sure Mendoza is gone? Yes, I realize (1) he'll finish as an undefeated national champion; (2) he won the Heisman; and (3) he'll be the #1 pick. But, if anyone would return after all that, it would be a special guy like FM.
Do I think this is probable? Uh ... no. But I also don't think there's a 0.0% chance.
The old portal news thread died...I transferred it over here.
Here are some little transfer factoids:
--Looking at ON3 top 100 portal recruits, SEC has 21 transfers from other conferences, BT 18, Big 12 11 & ACC 10, so far.
--Looking at intra-conference transfers, SEC has 18, BT only 5; the BT five being S Oerich from MN to Oregon; QB Raiola from NEB to Oregon; WR Marsh from MSU to IU; TE Weicing from NW to OSU; and IOL Brunner from WIS to IU.
Class-wise, I'm seeing IU ranked in the 7-10 range for its incoming class; however, when you consider that many schools ahead of us have also lost top prospects, we're probably a top 3-4 net class so far..........
In regard to Alberto's decision as to stay or go:
I think if he's smart he stays, primarily because I question Hoovers durability throughout a 16 game season (since we're headed to both the BT Championship and National Championship Games again next season😉)...
Hoover is listed at 6'2" 200lbs which 20-25 point ND's of muscle lighter than Fernando... We all saw the type of shots he's taken and gotten back up from that would've knocked your average (or even above average) athlete out of the game it occurred in and probably the one too...
I'm thinking we're gonna need the backup QB next Fall to come in and play in critical situations on multiple occasions throughout next season... If Alberto is smart he'll keep himself in the position to be That Guy when "Next Man Up" is needed...
Then..., heading into the "27" season if he isn't slated as the probable starter That would be the time to make the decision to stay or leave, but not now...Just my 2 cents Alberto but Id take it to heart if I were you... I'd hate to have you watching from someplace like UMASS while the next QB moved into your self-vacated position ended up playing close to half the season and multiple key snaps during critical points in the game...
The light is shining pretty brightly upon the IU Football Brand right now. The allure of the Portal would have to be quite strong to pull one away..
Makes sense he stays..$500k per season is good money..he already has celebrity...

Joseph ran QB draws 2 times for 150 yards..
@gthomas He's not coming back...you don't get Hoover if there is an inkling of a chance Fernando comes back.
