Odom from KSU would be a good pickup. That kid is a baller, great natural ability. still needs to work on processing a bit but he has the tools to be a special QB
Tayven played OK from what I saw. Still not a natural in some ways. But he improved. I saw a couple poor games and a couple good ones. He has that arm, a good arm. Fairly mobile.
Solid QB. I am very surprised he isn't staying with Frost... Frost put him right back in after out for injury, even though the backups moved the offense about as well.

College football doesn't seem to mind full on mercenaries now. There's enough programs desperate to fill out their team who won't hold multiple transfers against a kid, they overlook it. So I don't blame kids for opening the bidding every single year.
No, it's not good for a 'college' experience and development, but it's just good business if they want to maximize their income.

With what schools are paying starting QBs, he should transfer if there is interest in him. NFL is out of the cards for him, but he can still make life changing money before he enters the "real world"

@hoosier-clarion Could be very interesting pairing him with Alberto as both are good runners so the offense would be consistent.
@iunorth - I would counter that to say, what has he done to make you think he wouldn't? He is 18 for 24 (75% completion %) for 286 yards, 5 TD's and 1 INT. Thats a 235 passer rating and a 99.4 QBR. He's also rushed for 184yds on 11 carries....16.7ypc and a TD. All of those stats are higher than Fernandos.
You have to realize; he played with a lot of IU backups in AND the teams we were playing against weren't benching their starters when he was in. So its not like he was racking it up with his first team offense against a 2nd string defense. Alberto did phenomenal in the time that he did play. I think this kid has been cultivated perfectly in this environment to take the helm and not miss a beat. I for one expect big things for him next year.
because these are all garbage time stats. i like the kid and think he has a bright future somewhere but i'm just not seeing much from watching every game twice that shows me much of anything from him in the pass game.
he's played in just four high major games and in only one did he have more than 8 drop backs. that was against ucla and pff had him for 2 turnover worthy plays in his 7 throws. his int in that game was terrible.
he has just five total drop backs in the other three high major games and 2 td's in those games; one was a 4th down, 6 yard td pass against maryland that was a 2 yard out route to jonathan brady with 11 mins to go in the 4th (where back ups were definitely in) and the other was the davion chandler screen pass for 65 yards with 9 mins left in the 4th (with back ups definitely in) against purdue. both of those games were blowouts.
there is really nothing to glean from those throws.
now, he's a twitchier athlete than fernando, that we can see in garbage time.
this will be decided by what the staff is seeing in practice. i've stated on here that i think they should capitalize on a potential heisman winner and get a really good qb from the portal and turn it over to alberto (if he's willing to stay) in his redshirt junior season. but if the staff thinks alberto is the guy next year, i'm on board because they've earned a ton of latitude.
I understand your opinion, but Coach has always said "everything is earned & nothing is given". Coach Cig must bring in a portal QB & hopefully he's another Rouke/FM.
