Rumors abound that  Raiola is hitting the portal  

Really not a surprise. 

His brother decommitted from there a couple weeks ago. 

The next week to 10 days are going to be a buzz on portal news. I wonder if this is any indictor that Rhule is leaving

Indiana would be the best place for his development but I don’t know if Cignetti would even want him.

@iugradman Good point, but I bet Coach Cignetti would turn into a Heisman candidate

He’s probably too expensive. We have a lot of holes to fill. 

@thehoosierhuddle I would guess it has more to do with Rhule is likely going to fire his uncle who is their OL coach + changing priorities for NIL allocation

I also would not want Riola, he is way too slow. Statuesque and doesnt make the quickest reads. Good player, but the ceiling isnt that high IMO and the floor is very low if the OL isnt up to par (see: Minnesota breaking Raiola)

I doubt he's interested in playing behind Alberto anyway.

@unclemark I’ll be shocked if he’s the starter next year depending on what QB’s are in the portal.

@ccmac I hope he wins the battle, but I hope there is one. I’ve heard he’s a better runner and athlete than Fernando. Is his passing not up to par?  I’m afraid it’s going to cause friction if he isn’t good enough plus it would be such a great story.

I'd be shocked if he's not. Any transfer will get a shot, but they would be battling Cherry. 

Of course, I don't know much and could be totally wrong. 

We will go after a portal QB. Will depend on price etc…I’d bet money if a guy like Fernando is available and interested we will try. If Cig thinks he can upgrade reasonably he will. It’s a business. 

@unclemark we will have to wait and see but Alberto is a completely different type of QB.Great kid and great story but I’m afraid he will be recruited over and transfer. I know nothing about Cherry other than he hasn’t taken a snap in a college game.Given our success with QB’s the past 2 seasons Cig would most likely have his pick from the portal.Just my opinion,not getting ahead of ourselves,lots of season left hopefully.
