Should we be concerned with Kamara? One sack in the first three games.
Personal feeling, not until Saturday. If we can't get pressure. Yes! Go Hoosiers.
Wonder if other teams were double teaming him or what the issue is.
This is definitely 100% the position change. When they announced he wanted the switch, I thought that seemed strange. Only because that position isn't geared towards getting sacks, which is how he made his name. The rover is a hybrid LB/DB/DE. Look at Carr last year, 1.5 sacks, low tackle count. Its a super important role but he will often find himself falling into zone pass coverage as opposed to getting after the QB. Unless he saw himself as more of an NFL LB?
What I will say is, hes likely making an equal contribution in his role as he did last year. You just may not see it on stat sheet. Which is great but also strange that one would request that move unless he wanted to add to his resume.
In the end, he is doing other things that will help in run and pass that isn't purely getting after the QB. I def wouldn't fret.
@yothn 100% speculation on my part... but with the year he had last year, and him NOT leaving for the NFL... I wonder if he got feedback about him not translating as a traditional end in the NFL? And he's moving around now to work on other positions to show NFL GM's versatility?
Sure would be nice to have Big 6 in the backfield all night on Saturday...just sayin.
Kamara doesn’t have CJ West this year to help take some of the double teams off of him!

WILD TAKE! He didn't have CJ West the year prior and had no issues. It's just his change in position.
The year prior he wasnt playing in the B1g Ten though.
I hope they find more ways to send the rover then!
We could use Kamara creating havoc in the backfield. Maybe more than holding a guy to limited rushing yards or covering the tight end.
He's not playing rover he's playing stud. Boykin is at rover.

It was nice when there were only 3 positions on defense...DL, LB, and DB lol
Yeah, I had the terms confused. I saw Kamara as rover mentioned so was thinking 'must mean the same thing now' . Thank you.
Find a way to get the stud to the QB. New movie ... "Free Kamara!"
It'll happen. But also, I don't care if it counts as a sack as long as he flattens the Illinois QB just as he dares set foot across the line of scrimmage. With a mobile QB, here's hoping Mikail has a big game.
He comes alive Saturday night. Been saving the stunts and going vanilla. Nothing on tape. He can play all over. I think this game will be his "remember me" game. Go Hoosiers!

You're absolutely right, I said rover, he's the stud The same logic applies though as he's not always getting after the QB.
