My goal—a world free of MS. 

My name is Fernando Mendoza and I am the quarterback for the Indiana Hoosiers. Last year at Cal, I launched the “Mendoza Burrito” at La Burrita in Berkeley, inspired by my Cuban heritage. That campaign was deeply personal, as my mom lives with MS (Multiple Sclerosis), and I wanted to use my platform to honor her strength and positivity while raising funds for the National MS Society. 

This year in Bloomington, I’m excited to continue the fight against MS with a new local campaign. Two amazing restaurants have teamed up with me: BuffaLouie’s is featuring the “Mendoza Bros. Burger” and Gable’s Bagels is serving the “Mendoza Bros. Cubano” bagel sandwich. Proceeds from both menu items will go directly to the National MS Society.

My mom means the world to me—she’s the most caring and positive person I know—and I’ll keep doing everything I can to support her and others living with MS! Nearly 1 million people in the U.S. live with this unpredictable and often disabling disease, and while progress has been made, there’s still so much more to do.

The money raised through this campaign will help fund MS research, programs and services so people affected by MS can live their best lives. I’ve set an ambitious goal because I know that with support from people like you, we can get there.
