I am planning on doing an IUBB and IUFB mailbag podcast episode next week. If you would like to submit a question, put it in the thread. I will do my best to get to all of them. I'll also post this on the basketball board.

1) How much pressure is on DeVries this upcoming season now that we have bought him a roster that appears talented and more balanced on paper?

2) How many players can we expect in the 2027 recruiting class for football?  How do you see the ratio of transfers to high school recruits changing going forward given Cigs saying he prefers to go a more HS focused approach (which he has steadily moved towards each year) but there must be some pull for the portal given the success he has found there.

  • 2024 - 31 Transfers, 17 HS Recruits
  • 2025 - 23 Transfers, 23 HS Recruits
  • 2026 - 17 Transfers, 22 HS Recruits

Is the 2026 football team better than last year’s? I hear conflicting views. Cignetti has said he thinks the defense is ahead of the last two. There were some key losses but the transfer portal class looks good and there is a solid core of returners.

1.   How is our LB depth looking if Haines opts to go with three and there's an injury, targeting, etc.?   Who is the young guy at this position IU fans should have their eye on?

Who are the DE's that have the speed and physical ability to play backer in a pinch and to ensure our best football players are on the field?   Feels that IU is ridiculously loaded at DE, so generally curious how positionally flexible these DE"s are.

2.   Who do you believe our best two our three backup OL are?  Say at a minimum IU blows out seven opponents, how many snaps could we see these candidates at OL to start in '27 get in '26?

I know this doesn't fit exactly what you requested but can you give us an in-depth report on the differences between our new team versus last year's?
