He’s an incredibly talented player, but what impresses me even more is his willingness to step back and learn from two — actually three — outstanding backs, two of whom, I'm very sure, will make it to the league. We need to recruit more athletes like Khobie Martin, young men whose humility allows them to see the value in waiting for their moment to shine. His patience and work ethic speak volumes. We now have clear proof that this staff can take good players and develop them into great ones. We simply need guys who have this understanding and acceptance.
He still needs to prove it in first team reps against fresh defenses, but it's easy to see the potential there.

The point is....Allen was instrumental in recruiting to higher level than previously, talent and football intelligence .
Allen was ripped by 'fans' for his L.E.O. approach to team building and recruiting.
Ripped and ridiculed...
Watching the last season, watching multiple team leaders giving all Glory to God and especially Fernando's commitment to his faith was inspiring...
My view is that Allen's six years established this faith-based underpinnings crucial to the cohesive L.E.O.-driven success these past two years.
Thank you, Coach Tom Allen...
@qparker fans turned on LEO so quick and said it was soft and the reason they lost etc. All of a sudden all the guys saying we love each other and want to win for each other works now.
Tom’s time had expired and the school did him no favors shoving LEO down people’s throats. It came across as forced. Losing takes a toll. However, he will always be under appreciated for what he did because of how it ended. He brought a lot of talent into the program that ended up winning a title.
@qparker he did not bring cherry in. That was Cig. He flipped after Allen was fired
@thehoosierhuddle And, I thought Becker was a JMU recruit who flipped with Alberto and followed Cig to Btown, no?
@thehoosierhuddle OK, thanks! And a damn good one! Am I crazy to think he's going to be in the top tier of recievers behind Jeremiah Smith? And, I say that because the media annoints JS as the best regardless of stats. Last year, until Coop and Sarratt got hurt, they were equaling Smith and Tate in catches and yards and outproducing them in a little stat called TDs, but were always acknowledged behind the, although not sure on what basis.
@kkott no, you’re not crazy. Charlie has all the tools. He’s 6’4”, very fast and super strong hands. He can make contested catches. I haven’t looked at this year’s top WRs across the country, but Charlie should be among the best.

And coach Bostad. But to be fair, under his tutelage, they may not have become what they did. Its something we'll never know but he certainly deserves some credit.

@qparker when the time comes they need to honor those 2019 and 2020 teams
