I had to double-check to make sure it was actually Coach Wilson.

He posted a message of good luck for the bucket game last year too.

Wilson's alright, he has never made any big deal about holding a grudge.

We gave him his first HC shot. And he never fought his dismissal. Have to believe he knows he blew it and has no one to blame but himself. I hope he got his demons under control.
I for 1 liked KW. He initiated this program in the direction of success by eliminating the soft underbelly that was IUFB. He pushed toward the toughness we set in the seats of MS for today. Except for poor DC hires his IU stature would be higher. Really like he holds respect for the university he knew was to good to keep failing on the gridiron.
KW did screw up, but I agree I liked his attitude that we weren’t going to act like and allow ourselves to be treated like doormats.
Maybe an unpopular opinion, but I think KW did more good for IU football in the long run than Allen did.

Everyone keeps saying this. Are we still just talking about rumors or do we have hard evidence of anything he did?
I had a run in with KW at one of the spring games. I was in the stands writing about the game on the old Peegs forum and he lost it. I immediately put my phone down but he was quite nasty to me for the rest of practice continuing giving me a hard time. I guess was lucky he did not throw me out but, I didn’t like him too much after that.
@yothn He resigned and that cost him buyout $. Telling.
He was pretty sloppy around town. There was some kinda player mistreatment issue. Exactly what he did and how bad it was I don’t know. He got other jobs so it appears to not be something super severe. Idk — at this point I’m neutral on him.
@tammany Wasn’t it claimed that he forced injured players back onto the field too soon?
His offenses were fun as hell to watch. He treated defense like an afterthought. Finally brought in CTA to fix that and then was forced out.

I think the same. CKW basically built the program up to where we were 0.500 every year. That was in a time where we had to play OSU, UM, PSU and MSU (at their peak) every single year in conference play.
I dont think CTA did much for us other than destroy the team identity IU had built up (fun offenses). Outside of the one DeBoer year, the offense was putrid, and the defenses werent good outside of the couple Wommack playcalling years. Props to Allen for identifying Penix and that 2019-2020 coaching staff, but it was clearly a one hit wonder. We are very fortunate we struck gold with Cig, because our program was in the shape Purdue is in now by the time CTA left.
