Playing tonight. Former verbal commit to IU and Tom Allen. Saw the direction things were going and committed to TCU. We got Sorsby as his replacement. He looks like a pretty polished and poised QB. He had a good season last year.

they showed a clip of him saying that how he was raised his word is good or something to that effect. This was in relation to Tennessee coming after him to transfer there in the off-season, even though he was not in the portal. It just struck me as ironic given that he gave us his word and then de-committed

Yea, ironic is definitely the key word given we saw what his word actually meant.
Tough start for Bellicheat lol.

In this era, "commitment" whether signed or verbal doesn't seem to mean a whole lot.

I don’t disagree. So don’t sit in front of a microphone talking about how you’re gonna honor your word or whatever it was, he said. But that was the gist of it.
I think it's a little different. Yeah, on the other board we did rip him some when he turned down Tennessee and was getting praise for it. But, he could've made a million or more extra per year, sounds like more than that, and decided to stay. Seems decent to me, decommit for a recruit is usually expected to be less certain. Although I wouldn't doubt some NIL cash swayed him away from us.
Tom Allen and staff had a good eye for QB prospects.
@gros-louis you don't actually think kids commit to the school and not coaches, correct?
He would have been here if Walt Bell wasn't let go.

Some do, some don't. But that's a fair point.
