Yes, but it was all in jest. Even Herbstreit was yucking it up. Would be great if someone said it to him seriously. He needs a piece of humble pie.
And I love dogs but I'm sick of his. Is the dog sidekick thing an effort to make him appear more relatable/likable?

Had no idea. They're the only B1G team Ive really heard him consistently say good things about, so I assumed it was all good.

Just to be clear, I'm not defending Ohio State fans. I've been to two games in the Shoe and their fans - - particularly the middle-aged guys who clearly have never set foot in an Ohio State classroom - - are the worst I've encountered.
I think Herbstreit is a very good color commentator. He's well-prepared and knowledgeable. My problem with him is that his enormous ego has taken over the last few years (maybe it was the Thursday night deal that did it) and whether it's Game Day, some other panel discussion or an interview, he appears to view himself as the star of the show. Finally, his shitting on Indiana last season was inexplicable and dumb.
Edit: Here's another article. Subsequent to the move to Tennessee, the family did rent a second home in Ohio so one of his sons could play football at St. Xavier High.
