I don't mean to be smug about this because it's unrealistic (or is it??) to think we'll be in the CFP every season, but I have little interest in the non-playoff bowl games except for the three (Illinois/Tenn, Iowa/Vandy and Michigan/TX) involving B1G-SEC matchups.
What a difference a couple of years make. The goal for IU was always win six and become bowl-eligible. Now we're playing for a national championship. I like now.
I will definitely be watching the Iowa / Vanderbilt game, pulling for the Hawkeyes to beat the Heisman runner-up, Pavia.
I watch and all Bowl games I can. I wait all year for CFP season. There have been some great games too. Hawaii Bowl was a classic, Louisville-Toledo had some fireworks. I am looking forward to the People's National Championship (PopTarts Bowl) and all the B1G games as well. I like the funky stadiums, sight lines. It's also 2:30pm on a Friday and there is ball on.

I hear you, Sam, but with half-empty stadiums, opt-outs and some very good teams declining to participate, it's far from college football at its finest.

Personally, I'd like to trim down the bowl schedule and improve the overall quality by eliminating games like Nebraska vs Utah or UConn vs Army. They need to make "bowl eligible" and 8 win minimum. It would make the product better, which is the cornerstone of sustainability.

The inevitable expansion of the CFP could sound the death knell for non-playoff bowl games.
@big-ryan They won't disappear, there's too much money involved. They may shift it or I would have the bowls pay the pay the players to play.
