That was plain ugly, flashbacks to a Tom Allen team.
Left too many points on the field,no push from the line on the goal line,Mendoza had happy feet and Cig was not happy.
Their two long td’s just can’t happen, especially to a Sun Belt team.
They have obviously been reading the press clippings, hopefully they learned from this.
Thats what these early games are for,Cig will get it fixed.I’m sure he will comment about so many fans bailing early.
Definitely didn’t look like the emerging superpower in college football today. There is a loooong way to go to contend with elite teams. Hell, Purdue looked way better.
Ohio State, Texas and several teams looked sluggish today. First game rust. I have faith in coach Cig. We showed talent but lacked execution. He’ll get them there.
I was sitting right in back up the Old D QBs dad and brother. Dad got pissed when I was talking to the brother and asked if he was gonna leave for the money next year. lol. His brother was like oh ya for sure....
Was not impressed, but it's early and a wins a win. Got 2 more cream puffs before there real test. Better get a lot better.
@cavanagh I sure hope the style of huddle up after almost every play is not the norm going forward. They certainly weren't "pedal to the metal" especially in the second half, like they were last year.
GoHoosiers
@gr8iufan I'll touch on it in my wrap and reaction, but the whole thing just didn't feel very "Cig-like".
Cig and his staff had a great opportunity to make a big impression on 50 recruits today and his team was so uninspired and unprepared that he failed the test. When the lights were bright today for Coach to roll out the red carpet and impress, he choked. Plain and simple. Fans left because apart from the solar burning, they were probably expecting the standard and the standard wasn’t met.
Judging how the ODU QB torched us with his legs, you’d wonder if Fisher even played. Kamara must have been on vacation today. Completely non-existent .
@big-red-cb-v-2-0 It was a dud of a game. I agree with that. A weird game, but a dud.
They looked like kids that have been given a bunch of money and told how great they are for a year.
Just a way different feel than last year. And it seems like we have downgraded at QB.
@bligedy Yeah, the vibe wasn't right. However, I think it could be a blessing in disguise and why I think Cig came off as kind of giddy after the game.
IU got the win and got a huge serving of humble pie. I think he's excited he can kind of bring them back to earth a little bit. No inside knowledge, but going off feel and being around a lot of good coaches.
@iugradman They should have. They left at least 21 points on the field. Your complaints are 100% warranted, but I guess what I am struggling to grasp is your end game. If it's just airing frustrations, cool got it. We are on the same page.
