Dear Sark,
You did some solid lobbying, but a CFP at-large team doesn't have three losses and OT wins against deadbeats Mississippi State and Kentucky. It's time for you to pivot and lobby for the Pop Tarts Bowl.
Good luck, dumbass.
Texas vs. Miami would be one helluva non-CFP bowl game.
I was thinking Texas Iowa
Sec teams are so full of themselves and think they can lose 4 games and still deserve to get in. That’s crazy and wouldn’t have even been an afterthought of consideration when we were at 2 or 4 teams. If we had lost to say PSU and Oregon and needed overtime to beat PU and Maryland I don’t think we would be in even at 10-2. We’d probably be on the bubble like Vandy and Miami. Even last year when people complained Indiana didn’t belong we never had that issue with how we performed in games we were supposed to win. You have to dominate the teams you’re supposed to in order to get in. One off week and a loss to a high end opponent probably won’t kick you out if you win the rest of your games convincingly, but squeaking out multiple wins over the worst teams in your conference doesn’t help your resume. Texas did that and even if you scratch out the OSU loss and put them at 10-2 I still think they are a bubble team just because they had two OT wins against very poor opponents that they should have beaten by at least 3 scores.
Also, losing to two unranked teams like Miami did doesn’t help either even if you win a head to head at the beginning of the season. I am not a ND fan by any means and I hate that their schedule was so light after their two losses, but they won all the games they should’ve won since those two losses by at least double digits. They didn’t go to OT with GT or Navy. If they had I may look at their body of work differently and take the head to head into consideration, but Miami should have no more than 1 loss right now with that schedule and that’s being generous. The fact that they have two proves they don’t belong. ND is probably the only team in that projected 9-12 range that I think has any chance of doing any damage, but they are hard to evaluate with not having played a marquee opponent since USC. Let’s be real. PITT is not a marquee opponent. They handled business like they should have though and based on that I don’t think can be punished for their schedule. I wouldn’t be sad to see Miami get in over ND to make them see the value of joining a conference, but it’s just my opinion that they have the better resume than Miami and the only way that Miami should get in over them is by winning an acc championship which they cannot do since they didn’t qualify.
Notre Dame got hosed in the rankings this week. And I have been a ND hater all season
How does Notre Dame fall a spot after beating a team by 20 when Alabama had a struggle, ugly win against a team that isn’t bowl eligible?
The rankings are now set where all it takes is for BYU to beat TTU to remove ND from the rankings. Alabama might be the worst 10-2 from the P2
@hoosierdaddy Had to rig it so if Bama loses this weekend they’re still in.
If the SEC is sooooo difficult then switch conferences. Maybe they could join the wimpy Big Ten and dominate every year...just like Nebraska did

In Nebraska's defense, they didn't join the big 10 to play that schedule.
Hope is not optimism, which expects things to turn out well, but something rooted in the conviction that there is good worth working for. - Seamus Heaney, Irish poet and likely Hoosier basketball fan.

True but many of their fans were a bit delusional about the strength of their team.
