Good overview on Hoover.

My takeaway was that in his 3 combined HS seasons and 3 in College Football as a starter, he's thrown for just under 20,000 yards, which is what about 11 miles of passing.

@middawg - People thought it wasn't likely Mendoza would be better than Rourke when he was brought in.  He was unproven, lacked a ton of experience but in the IU RPO offense and a vastly stronger O-Line and weapons, he was setup for success.  I genuinely believe Hoover can do even more for IU.  I'm not declaring he will because he naturally must clean up his turnovers but so did Mendoza.  Hoover has ample experience and Cignetti has to clearly understand what he's getting here.  He very well could have an even better season.  I'm excited to see.

Awesome get by Cig and staff.

Love his film. Of course the highlights don't show the picks... But he looks good. Puts the ball in great spots for his guys.

Josh has a quick, accurate delivery & Coach Cignetti will make him a star, if he's all in.

Agree.

I bet Cig would agree with our thought process.

Easier and greater upside to dial back a gun slinger than to get a more classic game manager or youngin you need to nurse along and try to elevate into an elite QB.

I would also add, we are building up some great high-level talent/depth on the entire roster that we are getting to a point where we won't need to have a QB that carries us every game. I think of all those past championship level QBs from Bama and Georgia.... Greg McElroy, AJ McCarron, Stenson Bennet, Jake Coker, Mac Jones. None of them were out of this world talented.  You want a good, smart good QB that is efficient in your offense.   To me, I think Hoover is certain to be at or above that level of play.
