In all honesty, I couldn’t give 2 sh!ts about our rankings. Keep winning, and all that will get sorted out.
Who'd a thunk we’d be in this position, talking top-10 recruiting classes of whatever variety, 2 years go? Blows my f’ing mind.
For once, I’d like to hear Bill Walton's take on it. That’s how far my mind is blown. I could go farther, just to relate 😎

Puff, puff, pass. Amiright?😎
Is there any evidence that these recruiting services, who I presume are mostly funded by the SEC, have any degree of statistical accuracy with their ratings, that I should give any level of shit how they rank future Hoosiers over the Cignetti and Staff talent evaluation?
It's good for publicity for sure, which helps open more doors. But for play on the field, weak correlation most likely.
The rating services are for the fans. It gives us and the media something to talk about in the offseason. No way any coach worth his salt would pay any attention to them.Is there any evidence that these recruiting services, who I presume are mostly funded by the SEC, have any degree of statistical accuracy with their ratings, that I should give any level of shit how they rank future Hoosiers over the Cignetti and Staff talent evaluation?

either that or pass the gas

They are taking notice. We’re off to a great start. But no, we aren’t going to sign 15 5 stars. This isn’t basketball.@arioznahoosier4554 When are you talking? The '26 class is done and many/most on campus and was mostly set before the playoffs. I don't even think top 10 for '27 is realistic. The elite schools just have so much capital and resources behind them, I don't think HS recruiting can change as quickly as the portal. Steady improvement each year will get us where we want to be. If we're 30th this year, maybe top 20 next year. I think jumping into the top 10 is not realistic or likely. Just my opinion.
I was talking 2027 class. Maybe it is not obviously football is different than bbal given the numbers of bodies needed I was more looking at our record the last few years that would maybe make top guys take notice.

By looking at who we are attracting now, we are definitely starting at a much higher level player compared to where we've been in the past compared to the ratings.
