After Omar’s catch was reminiscent of Quinn Buckner’s ( when he was still a good guy). I know it was a dunk but can’t remember who.

Yes, that was quite entertaining listening to Gus go falsetto on the air. Ive heard him get excited before but never that much. I liked him before but he will always be in my memory for that call.
I can watch that clip over and over. Will never get tired of it.
Love the clip that shows all the last drive receptions(actually I've saved it)
Laughing about speaking in tongues.
Is anybody sure they have deciphered what he tries to say there? LOL
I enjoyed his call of the game. I heard complaints of rooting for Penn State and about himself. Not for me, when he would get excited for either side was about when I was. Of course I did laugh at HE HAS A HOLE LOOK OUT and the RB gains two yards. But so what, minor stuff, was still fun.

I understand when announcers have a rooting interest for the underdog to win. Its been proven that people tune into the games that are close at the end when its a top team and the game is close. That is when you see the large ratings boost. People change what they're watching and tune in because they want to see the upset. In our case, it's the CFP contenders and other B1G teams fighting for our spot so they want us to go down. I am guilty of this with Purdue.
So, I don't blame them one bit to want excitement. Especially for how rough of a season they have had.
...Exactly. During the game when some Indiana fans were complaining, I felt that was all I was hearing. Pumping an underdog coming back story - dont tune out folks!I understand when announcers have a rooting interest for the underdog to win. I was fine with his calls both ways. The booth got excited when we made plays too.
As seen by the final touchdown call. LOL
Forget who it was (Joel Klatt?), but I heard one of the talking heads talking about watching the final drive in an airport bar and the unique dynamic that is. Sports fans of all ilks gathering to watch a close ending. I can only imagine the energy building on that drive with each catch and then the eruption with The Catch! Everyone shouting and cheering... then paying their tabs and heading to their flight. I've had that experience a couple of times and it is uniquely entertaining.

If I am reading what you said, it sounds like you are saying Joel Klatt was watching the game at an airport bar. Being that he was calling the game alongside of Gus, I imagine it wasn't him. ha But maybe I misunderstood what you're saying.
I still want to know what Gus said while the ball was in the air? Anyone?
I had that experience sitting in the Miami airport watching the Masters on my way to Europe and saw Tiger woods chip in on the 16th hole where he chipped way up the hill and it rolled all the way down and in. The place went crazy. Then we all went to our flights.Forget who it was (Joel Klatt?), but I heard one of the talking heads talking about watching the final drive in an airport bar and the unique dynamic that is.
