I mean, he fits the profile. And he's an IU legend. As much as I loved Schwarber as a Hoosier, he's a better pick than him. IMO, only Cuban would be a better choice than IT.It's Isiah Thomas and I am very disappointed
@gros-louis I agree with you, very elated that IT is the choice. Not sure how you could be disappointed with this selection.
I would have preferred a football guy.
But at least this will draw attention to our title days in basketball... Hopefully without much snickering outside Indiana that we haven't done a thing since Knight, and that we have been particularly poor more recently.
I like Isiah, and he brought us a title. Just a two year guy though. Hopefully still widely known by the outside world.
Zeke was already on BNK for the season opener, which is part of my thumbs down. I'd rather an IUFB guy. Go get Ogunleye. Part of this is also as a Knicks fan and he was awful, just awful in NY. Sexual Harassment suit, stunk as the GM, stunk as the coach.
He is an IU legend, but would have loved to see someone else
Thank you for reading Hoosier Huddle
I surely never was able to fathom why he was ever picked as a coach or especially as gm. Blew my mind. And was not surprised he wasn't any good at either of them.
@thehoosierhuddle Seems like a safe, vanilla, type choice. Its fine, Isaiah is an IU legend. Many will love it. I'll love it. I was just hoping for someone a little more "current". OG, Katic, Coogan, Cuban... Not sure Isaiah and McAfee will be overly entertaining together. But again, I'll love it. Its Isaiah.

Completely agree.
We finally - FINALLY! - have a championship football program and the featured guy on the most-watched college football show is a hoops star from the Knight era? Poor choice.
The picker doesn’t matter that much in the big scheme of things. It should be a fun day and great showcase for IU.

Of course I'm serious. Does he move the needle? Or do kids watching the broadcast just say 'that guy hasn't played for over 30 years'. I saw 300-500 million followers on social media for a soccer player. What's Isiah's following? Sammy indicates that fans of a certain team probably think he sort of sucks.
True that he's known. I guess I was thinking, 'known and also don't think he's a bit of a fool'.
Anyway, he's OK. An IU guy. I am probably in the minority on the other stuff. I was a kid when he played for the Hoosiers, but old enough to have been a fan, he was great. As he was for Detroit.
@thehoosierhuddle Agreed. And lest we forget, he was a high-ranking member in the Pro-Bigfoot mafia.
@thehoosierhuddle Why? I thought of him as a possibility. He’s pretty well known.
@zeke4ahs I'd rather have a football Alum, but oh well. Should be a great show. Location looks awesome
Thank you for reading Hoosier Huddle
@openwheel Maybe you are, but it just strikes me as odd. For me, he’s on Mount Rushmore there with Michael, Larry, and Magic. The guys you recognize by just saying their first name. Just an old fogie I guess…
On Mnt Rushmore with those guys? Of course not. In our midwest recruiting grounds? Indiana, Michigan-Detroit, Chicago since his teams were famous against Jordan. OK, I can agree with that. So I guess it's cool.
First name? If you spell it wrong Google doesn't ask but serves up a different NBA Isiah. Even if you spell it right, many searches. So I don't think he's Pele.
He deserved to be on the Olympic team. Got screwed. Despite my posts on this topic, other than leaving early for the pros and initially not wanting to say much about Bobby Knight , I liked him as a player. Didn't like when Dumars sort of became viewed as the better player Isiah's last couple years.
