Is that a hot take? He definitely deserves the Heisman and New Orleans, NYJ, or Cleveland is getting a great QB!
Assuming OSU beats Michigan, it'll go to the winner of the B1G. The game winning drive will pay dividends for him.
It’s a warm take. There are other players having excellent years too. I think he’s a lock to go to NYC as a finalist
He's just not a lock. He's +100 right now, which is a 50% chance. Sayin (+200, 33% chance) has the UM game and Big Ten Championship as major showcase opportunities. Reed is a long shot, but he's got the Texas game and SEC title game as showcases too.
My guess is the winner of the B1G championship game gets it. The Heisman odds swing significantly from week to week and no one has it locked up right now.
@auburnhoosier It wont go till the CCG
Sayin is honestly the worst "Heisman contender" Ive ever seen (resume wise). Im not being hyperbolic.
He plays for what is on paper the best team in the country, with a WR corp thats all 5*s 5 deep, and he has played all the worst teams in the conference. He has played two good defenses all year (Texas / Washington) and he was terrible against Texas and just "good" against Washington. Im sorry, but 25 TDs in 10 games against meh teams with that supporting cast is just way too weak to be "heisman"
Mendoza locked up the award. He has 10 more TDs than Sayin, and has led game winning drives in historic venues against good teams.
Was just thinking... We havent seen Mendoza bust the Heisman pose this year yet. He should do it against Purdue, those clips get media attention when guys do it (like TTU's linebacker yesterday) and media attention = votes

Doesn't seem like he has the personality to do that.
@kelly_32 Having an IU player strike the heisman pose in the dump known as West Lafayette is on my bucket list of items to achieve in the Cig era
He has played two good defenses all year (Texas / Washington) and he was terrible against Texas...
Sayin is 20-year-old redshirt freshman and OSU's opener against Texas was his first ever start. Sayin was 13 of 20 for 168 yards, 1 TD pass, no interceptions. The OSU coaching staff was very conservative with their offensive game plan as they didn't want to put too much pressure on their young QB. I disagree that Sayin was "terrible" against Texas. I think he did well.
Las Vegas might also pick Mendoza with the #1 pick.
@auburnhoosier I understand the BTC-as-tiebreaker perspective, but I don't think that'll be the case unless OSU drags IU and Sayin is dominant. If Mendoza plays well and the Hoosiers win or lose a competitive game, he'll still get the trophy.
If both guys have solid performances in their respective regular season finales, FM will go into the BTC with a "lead" in the Heisman race.
I bet Mendoza for Heisman at +2000 before the Oregon game. Now he's -110.
I usually avoid future-type bets because I've lost nearly all of them, but $500 to win $10,000 would make up for all of my past losses.
