@thehoosierhuddle Color me jealous for you getting the best seat in the house. Saw you were next to Don during the national championship too. Is that the case for all games?

@low-level-flyer it is. I kind of bad lucked into the full-time gig.

When I was first starting Terry Hutchens befriended me and we would ride with each other to road games and events some times and he became a good friend. So in 2016 Terry asked if I could do stats for Don because he had to cover basketball.

I said yes, of course. Fisch called me that night to explain the position. I was nervous as heck and immediately went to an old game to practice what Don wanted. The first game went well and I because Terry’s full-in when he had to cover hoops and then when Terry sadly passed. Don asked if I wanted to do it full time. So I’ve been doing it ever since.

I heard it was disappointing being only 30 minutes long.

IU fans will definitely want it to be longer, but a general audience would prefer the 30 minutes.  The most interesting part for me was the segment with his twin brother.

The whole thing had a real public TV feel to it...something a Sr. in the media school might put together.

@thehoosierhuddle Like you said, kind of a bad luck way to end up with the position, but what a great opportunity for you. So are you doing it for basketball too?

Hutch was a good man and a good journalist.   I met him just once but it was unique.  I was helping my son buy a house in Fishers (I beiieve) and we randomly go look a house that turned out to be his.   It was FSBO and he showed us around, it wasn't the right house for my son but the memorabila in the basement was cool to see and he showed us a lot.
