No one knows how/when the injury happened, but it did happen. It stinks to say the least for him and the program. But, we can still win it all.
There's video of him jumping up to high five fans in the stands after the game and him landing and when he lands, his right leg immediately lifts in the air like he knew something bad happened.
Okay. I saw that and just wasn’t sure if that was the moment.
I’m still very bummed out.
Terrible loss if true but I trust Coach Haines with any hand dealt. I could envision crazy 3-3-5 nickel packages where our LB’s rush the passer from crazy angles that we haven’t even seen yet to generate the pressure.
Before the tv cameras hit Cig and the four players for their post game presser, as the players are walking in Cig asks them if they heard about.... hard to make out. All three answer that they did with a different answer. Once the players were already sitting in chairs is when the live presser started which I did watch. That video with them talking was on X early tonight.
I did take a screen shot of that.
Yet another reason these games shouldn't be played anymore
@hoosiers94 I don't disagree, but then you're taking away what was one of the great moments in IU sports history. Especially if he was hurt in the celebration after the game. Can't plan for that.
Yet another reason these games shouldn't be played anymore
How does Indiana and Ohio State 2025 CO-B1G Champions sound to you?
Yet another reason these games shouldn't be played anymore
And throw out what to this point was the biggest win in modern program history?
you're being emotional. I'd take a national title over that any day.
this is a macro view , take IU out of it.

Of course in a hypothetical every fan would rather win a national championship over conference championship. I don't know about you, but I want both. So does every single player on our roster, and the vast majority of our fans. Even with a fully healthy roster a national championship isn't guaranteed. In college football you only should hang banners for two things, conference championships and national championships. I'd argue the one being emotional is you. If Daley didn't get hurt, this wouldn't even be a discussion or rather if a backup like Ndukwe as an example got hurt in the exact same fashion instead, this again wouldn't even be a discussion. What happened if Daley had gotten hurt against Purdue? Would you say the bucket game doesn't really matter because Purdue clearly isn't on our level? Should we just have opted out of that game to keep our guys healthy because we had nothing to gain by playing in it?
i answered that in previous post. No i didn't even know Daley was hurt when i started this. Someone posted it earlier in the thread. But proves my point.
these games are a lot of hoopla and for fans.
of course they want to win them all. What athlete doesn't. But ideally as you stated I want the national Title over the big ten title. So why would I want to put an unnecessary obstacle in my way
this game is over and done .. the result isn't going anywhere... you can brag about it all you want. Going forward is what is now in question

Why?? If you don’t know why winning the big ten is a massive accomplishment and diminish it to an “unnecessary obstacle” you don’t understand college football very well.
I'm a one step at a time guy but align with many of the posts above. B1G title = check. (unreal.) Maybe Heisman? (also unreal.) Rose Bowl is next game up. (Chance to win it against SEC.) (Awesome)
If we win the B1G, get a Heisman, and a Rose Bowl. I can't even contemplate after that. Massive grin! Go Hoosiers! What a fun year.
I understand what it was.... the minute you introduced a playoff and started playing players and allowing them to jump around annually you changed it entirely. Maybe you don't understand where it's going. There was a time those games meant more... hell 15 years ago they didn't even play them. So all this historical sentimental comments about it are so near term.
