Just saw this, and what a great interview and another great player and person representing IU. Well done D'Angelo and Coach Cig!

I’m gonna enjoy when he does well in the NFL despite his “limitations.”

Cig clearly stopped himself in interview prior to the title game when asked about Ponds, he started to say 'he's so hard working' as to why a smaller guy could be successful, but cut himself off and said something like he's a very talented cover guy regardless of size.

Just as he was about to say 'hard working' I thought 'don't say hard working like everyone always does about small guys, especially Ponds!' . And he didn't, I am pretty sure he changed what he was about to say, lol. Hard work and hustle had been praised to death about Ponds already by Haines and Cig before.

Hard work is great, but Ponds also needs recognized for talent.

Yea, Ponds has a ton of talent and athletic ability.  His speed and change of direction are about as good as it gets -- he was a track and field star with state titles.

@tammany great film study, and/or reaction time. Looks like a choreographed dance when he's covering a receiver watching the timing of their steps.

He’s really active and positive on social media for IU. Maybe I’m naive , but in this day and age where it seems like so many college players are just mercenaries and at their schools for the money, it seems like most of Cig’s guys really enjoy playing at and for IU. Boy, is Cig a good judge of character.

Ponds isnt super active on social media, I think your thinking of his dad. His dad (is still currently) hyping guys in the portal to give Indiana a serious look. We hit the jackpot with them, great football player, great family
