INDIANA's FB scheduling has found plenty of detractors down south but it became increasingly clear at the Big Ten media days, the program won't be the only team in the league to avoid future P4 nonconference games.
"I'm not interested in scheduling anybody in the P4 we don't have to" said Washington coach Jedd Fisch. "I thought Curt Cignetti was dead right" Fisch said. PSU coach James Franklin is also among the coaches that doesn't have a problem with avoiding an additional P4 opponents.
Pretty cool we have one of the more charismatic coaches in the B1G that can make a case for changes to CFB and defend the conference. And he isn’t afraid to either.

Even better is....he seems to usually be right. He is similar to Saban in that way.
@tammany there are so many things to like about Cig. This is certainly one of them.
See two more articles piling on INDIANA/Coach Cignetti's nonconference schedule. Coach just keep a stiff upper lip.
@red-hornet Yep. I also think we generate clicks/views nowadays, so there is a reason to write about us.
I wish we would have kept the UVA game. If Pettiti gets his way where Big 10 had 4 AQ's with a conference playoff 1 plays 2, 3 plays 6, and 4 plays 5 Then preseason would be open game to play tougher competition.
After listening to more whining for national pundits I thought I would take a look at the SEC schedules. Here is what I came up with:
Only Bama and Florida are playing more power 4's than everyone in the Big 10. I know Wisc, OSU and Michigan have an OOC power 4 so 10 for them. Reality is every Big 10 team has an automatic 9 Power 4 games so when the SEC schedules one they are just even with us. They can bitch all they want. Go to 9 and have the conference playoff that Pettiti is proposing to eliminate teams. There would still be two opens spots outside ND and the group of 5. Also, a great money maker for the conference. I think Sankey is just butt-hurt that he didn't think of it.
