The Athletic put this out. IU comes in at
38. Indiana: $386 million
Average football revenue: $64.3 million

Seems directionally right. Most of a program’s value is the size of the fanbase — that’s where most of the money comes from. It’s why our bball program is usually top-5 in any valuation methodology despite the our quarter century of struggles.
Our FB fanbase is small. Growing with upside, but small. Thus, #38. B1G media rights bail us out a bit.
This list has some issues with reporting of FB program revenue — for example OSU isn’t allocating some sponsors or media rights to FB like other schools are in this list — their revenue number is too low.
I agree. I also don't put a ton of stock into this as things are always changing. To me this is just "Talking Season" fodder to start conversations.

@thehoosierhuddle Yea it’s fun.
Come to think do it, since valuations should be done on future potential, an “emerging superpower” such as IU should be valued closer to $1 billion. 😉
That's some silly ass shit there. Yeah, I know Bloomington isn't Chicago, but Northwestern over Indiana???
@unclemark As they say in real estate. Location, Location, Location. That lake side stadium was pretty damn cool

@unclemark yeah I gotta go with you on that one. Someone didn’t think that through to clearly.
