Seems more like an event to help Dublin’s local economy than getting anyone over there into CFB.
Build interest and a TV deal could eventually result.
When I worked in Germany and France, any time there was American football on, it was largely ignored by everyone, including the media. The crowds consisted of a lot of ex-pats and some locals who are into it - kind of like soccer crowds in the US.True but I think part of this has always been to promote the sport globally.

@old-crescent He finished as their leading receiver with 7 catches for 61 and a long of 35
@unclemark Not any time soon. They don't understand the sport there (like I don't understand Rugby) and they kind of laugh at the uniforms, since they wear no padding in Rugby. And Rugby is still kind of a niche sport. I have several friends over there who are huge Rugby fans but there aren't that many.

Right. I just thought he'd shine there. I was sorry to see him transfer, but evidently he wasn't as good as I thought he was here.@old-crescent He finished as their leading receiver with 7 catches for 61 and a long of 35

@old-crescent a lot of his success at IU was late in games. He’s explosive, but I don’t know if he’s an every down back. Also SH was down big in the second half. It may be another year to hammer WKU overs

I don't expect anything in my lifetime. But who thought 30 years ago that soccer would become a "major" sport here? Unlikely, but possible.
@old-crescent I watched the second half. There was no blocking from the offensive line. Either that or wku has a great defensive line. Every back was getting hit right when they got the handoff. He did pretty decent as a receiver. Thought he may even be a better fit at the slot. I thought he was going to break a pass reception for a TD late but got tripped up.
I know it was the first game of the year for each team and an unorthodox one in that in Ireland, but neither team looked very good at all to me. I would be shocked if we’re not considerably better than both.
Agree with the this.....The KSU QB is way overrated. The ISU QB looked pretty good though, and was about the only guy on the field that stood out to me as a casual watcher of the game.
It’s so strange, but fun, watching other games and always thinking about which outcome would be best for us to move up in the standings. Can’t wait until next week!
I watched some of it...was pulling for ISU.
Watch, they will move Iowa State up a few spots to #19, then put Kansas State at #20 and IU falls back to #21. We know the playbook.
Don't think so, if IU wins by 20 or more. KSU not only lost, but looked pretty bad doing it.
