Didn’t know where to put this but getting PTSD from seeing Walt Bell on my tv screen.
@tammany I saw this earlier as well. Shocked Pat F. would make this hire with how poorly he performed at IU and later Bama. I’m pretty sure he will be fired in two years. lol. I now have less confidence msu can become competitive.
He was better than Walt Bell, and Bell did OK at Western.
So, maybe a move to a Michigan school is the answer.
He probably has learned a bit, from DeBoer and Grubb. That Ole Miss game he called, woof. Made me question his intelligence. But, hopefully he no longer feels the need to be the smartest guy in the room.

yeah, this surprises me. I thought he was terrible both times he had a chance to do it.@tammany I saw this earlier as well. UL kept Brohm away from UM.
Next up looks like Whittingham.
The timing for the Moore firing was really not good.

So a coach that just retired.

@dbmhoosier Yea, and that retirement was somewhat prompted by Utah. It wasn't quite a force out, but they were like hey we would like to get your successor in here now.
Whittingham is 66, so older than Cig.
He's got to be shocked after stepping down at Utah he gets the Michigan job.

Brohm has always been a UL guy, so it’s not surprising that it would be really hard to convince him to leave there, even for a job like Michigan.
Looks like Whittingham will be announced later today. He's a good football coach and was awesome at Utah. However, this hire may be somewhat of a reach with no midwest connections and he's 66 years old. He should be able to clean up the mess at UM, but this does not scream long term answer.

If they truly want -- and will allow -- him to "clean up the mess," they're going to have to have some patience with the team's performance in the next few years. Not something I expect them to do. The Cignetti Effect will be really hard on any new coach at a top tier football school.
PSU poached USC's DC, who was a PSU alumni.

Massive get?
I watched the Illinois USC game and the one thing that USC was missing was any defense.
I read though that they made a jump from shit defense last year, to middle of the road this year.
