Ok it’s coming out. He got his assistant pregnant and paid for an abortion. Then flipped out after getting fired. Drove to an assistants house and tried to break in. Then was threatening suicide. Crazy day.
Couldnt even afford the pill, what a health plan. Or condoms. $5 million for freshman QBs takes a toll.
Well, I hope mentally he will be all right soon. Scary. And sad.

@olympian97 Why would Cignetti have any interest in the Alabama job? Saban didnt give him the opportunity to be a coordinator. Cig had to go find a HC job on his own. Saban helped almost all of his other assistants get jobs. Just listen to Saban on Gameday. Back to back seasons where he never picks Cig even though he is always a homer for his other prior assistants.
I doubt Cig has any deep attachment to the place
Something like this was inevitable ... the guy graduated from the Harbaugh School of Shenanigans.
@olympian97 I don’t know about that. Cig has built in things that are unique in his contract. Safeguards with Witten and Dolson if they leave or terminated. The rider that they must keep him top 5 in salary or his buyout goes to zero.(Smart for instance has a zero buyout).
@hoosierdaddy one thing I won’t do is try to suggest I can accurately guess what Cig is thinking. After the extension last year and him saying “why would I leave?” it seemed pretty certain he would never leave, but he did say when he signed his latest extension that he played the “what if” scenarios with his wife. It’s not to be critical of him because most people will do that with a big job opportunity. Even though it was a small part of the message he delivered that made me wonder if there was a program he is waiting on and it just wasn’t Penn State. I hear you on the Saban treatment and it bothers me too the disrespect it seems he gets from Saban, but he quotes his time at Bama often and just the fact that there are strong ties concerns me. Also, his treatment by Saban could be a strange motivation for him to take the job. Cig is not wired like the average person. It doesn’t mean those concerns are valid. Just a concern nonetheless. I’d just rather Deboer stay so I don’t have to stress it. That’s all.
@olympian97 If DeBoer leaves for Michigan, Kiffin will be moving from Baton Rouge to Tuscaloosa by the end of the day. Nothing to fret about
👀 the Moore thing is just getting started. Buckle up it’s wild.
Sounds like Full press for DeBoer.
Good luck getting DeBoer.
The external tip that began the formal investigation was from a Doordash driver who delivered Plan B directly to Moore's on campus office. How stupid can you be?
Guys, I know it's a slow sports week until Saturday night (Heisman show), but this talk about CCC leaving for Alabama, Michigan or anywhere else is crazy talk.
First, the money. IU gave him an extension through 2033, with huge compensation and incentives for B1G championships, CFP appearances and more. My understanding is he's one of the highest paid coaches in college football. His coordinators, particularly Haines, are making big money as well. IU, flush with resources (and a very wealthy alum - lol) has finally fully committed to football under Whitten and Dolson. Cignetti's in a really good place.
Next, the history. Entering this season, IU was the losingest program of all-time in the major college ranks. We were a joke for, seemingly, forever. But in just two seasons, Cignetti has taken us from laughingstock to #1 in the country. He's already a god at Indiana. (When does the statue go up?). He can cement his legacy with a national championship (or two or three), and he's well-positioned to do so.
Next, his age. He's 64. Why would he want to go somewhere else and start over again?
Next, Alabama. Seriously? First, there's no indication that DeBoer's job in his jeopardy. Even if it was, why - - at this stage of Cig's life and career - - would he want to take over a program that was run for years by a guy who is the greatest college coach of all time? Saban set the bar ridiculously high. Anything short of national championships is a disappointment there. That's a helluva lot of pressure. Even with our recent success, it will be a long time until the expectations for and at Indiana are anything close to what they are in Tuscaloosa.
Finally, the situation at Michigan is a shitshow now. Moore's firing couldn't have come at a worse time. It's already late in the hiring and recruiting season, and we're in a dead period. The portal opens January 2, and maybe sooner at Michigan depending on when their new coach is hired. Then, stand by for a mass exodus of talent. Maybe the Vandy or Arizona State coach will be interested in that job, but not the coach of the Big 10 champions, the #1 team in the country, the coach who's got an organization and system in place that's running like a well-oiled machine.
Enjoy the Cignetti run. It's only just begun.
If KDB went to Michigan, Kiffin would dump LSU if Bama came a-calling. Dude is a mercenary.
Is Michigan all that different from Penn State? I would assume DeBoar was contacted by PSU? He may leave for Michigan, its a great job...I think like PSU, its getting up pretty close to the level of job that Bama is, but both have a higher tolerance for 3 loss type seasons every now and then, than Bama does. But I would wonder why Michigan, and not PSU? Personally, I wouldn't want to deal with Portnoy. And that isn't a joke. And I don't mind Portnoy, with how I have to take him. If I had to take meetings with him, like I'm sure the Michigan football coach has, and will have to... ehhhh... nah.
With Portnoy's involvement, and just Michigan's overall vibe, I wouldn't be surprised if its some splashy hire like Gruden, Deion, maybe even someone like Chip Kelly, etc... I don't think a coach currently doing well, and established at an already elite level program, would take the Michigan job right now. So no Freeman, no DeBoar, etc...
