Translation by a guy on the r/CFB subreddit:

"I made the difficult decision to leave my wife who’s been very loyal to me for a prettier woman she despises. I was hoping to keep living in our house through Christmas & acting like nothing was wrong. My request was denied by my wife despite the kids wanting me to stay through Christmas.:

Hope is not optimism, which expects things to turn out well, but something rooted in the conviction that there is good worth working for. - Seamus Heaney, Irish poet and likely Hoosier basketball fan.

@auburnhoosier from what I’ve read so far only 4 staff members went with Lane which includes the OC Charlie Weiss Jr. They have retained the rest of the staff and their Dc has been elevated to HC. I’m assuming their QB coach is being elevated to OC as he was mentioned as top priority to retain.

All thee coaches that stayed also got big raises.

Great.  Happy to see UK blow $38M on a buyout.

Is this the most movement ever on the coaching carousel?

If so, I wonder how much Cig's instant success at IU has played a role.  How many ADs are like "if IU can go from perennial doormat to the playoffs in year 1 and 2 under a new coach, then what the h... is wrong with our coach"

@auburnhoosier  Agreed, Ole Miss has a beautiful campus, old money, and more resources than LSU. LSU area looks like it's built around a ghetto.

I think it's reduced the patience that schools have for coaches.  Coaches used to get 3-4 years to produce, now it's 1-2.  If the worst school in FBS can hire a coach and compete, then so can the SEC.  Except it's not that simple.  Coach Cig is a lot better coach than what the SEC wants to admit.

"LSU has more NIL and a state government that will pass whatever laws are needed."

That's been the general direction of most commentary I've read from SEC folks.
