Hey y'all, this is a must watch. Well worth your time.
Watch Kamara run right thru an OSU lineman. Amazing. And Landino just spins thru the OL!
Kamara hasn't had nearly as many dominant plays as compared to last year. 10 sacks down to 1 sack, 47 tackles down to 26 . He'll need a strong game for us to beat Alabama. Landino too.
@openwheel Kamra led the country in QB pressures created, he excelled at things that did not show up on the stat sheet.

He was in a different role this year because he moved to the STUD position. We might see them throw him back down at DE in place of Daley and start Ndukwe (Kamara's backup) at STUD. With Kamara, Landino, Tucker, Ratliff, Wheeler. We still have the dogs needed to run what we want. Its just the depth and late game fatigue that is going to be interesting.
I know he played a different position, and that's been the talk all season, that he still gets 'pressures'. But tackles still need to be made, or why have that position? Reducing the yardage or percentage of the pass game helps, but not as much as putting guys on the ground.
Who played stud the most last year, Carr?
We did have a better year in sacks, even over last year. So I guess Kamara is drawing attention.

I understand why you question it and most people are saying that based purely on statistics. The STUD position doesn't end up with high stats. Look at Lanell Carr Jr.'s stats last year. 38 tackles, 1.5 sacks.
Since its a hybrid role, the STUD is often setting the edge against the run or attacking OL to compress gaps. Therefore, they have a large role in simply occupying blockers to free up Jones, Fisher, Hardy, Moore or anyone else to make plays. I surmise Kamara moved to this role to show his speed and versatility on tape before moving onto the NFL. His focus is disruption and chaos really.
If anyone knows, I'd love an answer to this question:Kamara hasn't had nearly as many dominant plays as compared to last year. 10 sacks down to 1 sack, 47 tackles down to 26 . He'll need a strong game for us to beat Alabama. Landino too.

It seems that Bama's lack of a run game provides us options to lean into defending the pass vs. the run.For IU's scheme, how can we adjust it to focus more on the pass vs. run defense? Would moving Kamara to DE achieve this? Do we need to blitz more?
@bradstevens Moving Kamara may just be based on need with Daley and Wyatt sidelined. So it may not be a scheme thing.
If IU can stop the run with four, it means you can dedicate either Hardy or Boykin to play in coverage or blitz.
I don’t see IU changing much, maybe have some unique pressures, but Haines will play his game.
Pressure is key as Bama has some awesome talent at the skill positions and no matter how great your DBs are it’s tough to cover for a long time.
I wouldn’t think IU strays too far from the OSU game plan, except for maybe moving Kamara or filling in for Daley in some way.
38 seems like a hell of a lot more than 26 . But maybe I cant do math.I understand why you question it and most people are saying that based purely on statistics. The STUD position doesn't end up with high stats. Look at Lanell Carr Jr.'s stats last year. 38 tackles, 1.5 sacks. ...
@openwheel people weren’t doubling Carr. Kamara has also been hurt most of the year
This is a short breakdown that’s actually pretty good. Notice how similar IU and Georgia defenses are. Also one of these clips is the busted coverage that got Oregons touchdown in the first half.
@thehoosierhuddle will IU stay in the 4-3? BH has mixed it up in situations. More so last year. 3-3-5 is on the table imho. Keeps those great LBs in the game too. Will be very interesting to see the looks they give Alabama.
@d-b-cooper I think they throw a couple different looks, especially with Daley out.
