Would be nice for some of our fan base to do some reflection over the bye week and stop booing our own players.
Biggest thing for me is health. This is a tired team and it shows with the uncharacteristic mental errors they are making. Hope they are using this time for treatment and recovery and just getting a mental break from the pressure of as much football as they've played. That OSU game was a heavyweight fight and both OSU and IU came out of it a bit worse for wear.
I hated hearing the boo's and all the comments around me from the uneducated fans.
I think its 98% QB play, at this point. If that is figured out, and we have a solid, functioning QB, that can lead the offense, put the ball on our receivers more often than not, make the right RPO reads, etc... I think we're the best team in the country. If its not figured out, if Wilson has to play and there's a reason why he's not pushed for more playing time before now, and he isn't overly effective... or if Hoover comes back, and isn't much better than NW-Minny Hoover... then we're still a top 20 ish team, but one that has basically no chance to advance deep in the CFP.
Good QB play, we blow out all 3 remaining opponents. Probably get a bye in the CFP. And I like our chances against anyone.
Mediocre to bad QB play, that brings potential losses in to play against both USC and Washington. We could beat Purdue with me playing QB, I'm sure. But even if we were to squeak out wins in those other games, the committee will see the flaws, and we'll end up having to host a CFP game, and it'll make our 2nd round matchup more difficult. And obviously if we lose another game, and the committee sees the bad QB play, that could bring in to play missing out on the CFP. And if we make it, we'd have to go on the road, and I wouldn't like our chances in such a game, with poor QB play.
Its basically all about the QB, at this point.
