@hoosiers94 I think OSU was poorly prepared and mentally weak. They were the better team, but they weren’t ready for it when Miami came out and punched them in the mouth and they never fully recovered.
Not sure about their prep or mental state, I just know UM beat them at the line of scrimmage pretty handily. When OSU or any other team can’t run the ball, the offense will struggle, even with elite receivers and a top flight quarterback. Expect that Alabama will load up to try and stop our run game, as well.
I think Khobie Martin's speed may be needed today
I've been waiting most of my adult life for a B1G championship and a run to the Final Four. Thank goodness for football because the hoops team is, oh, at least 75 years away from accomplishing either.
@big-ryan Yep, it's time for the NCAA to finally do what's obvious and needed: Go to a 16 team playoff with the top 8 seeds getting a home playoff game, which is also great for college football. With all these bye losses and ND getting left out, I think they'll change it this year.
PS, also shit can the First Four games in March Madness and go to the equally obvious 64 team field. Teams 13-16 in college football actually have a chance of winning it, while teams 65-68 in bball, have no chance.
IU is better than Alabama but anything can happen in one game. Yeah, I'm worried but I expect Cig to have the boys ready to play.
My worry is the rust factor. Teams with a buy are now 0-5 and Texas Tech looks like crap. Before I saw this as a 75/25 type game for us. Now I'm leaning to toss up territory. Hopefully Cig has the boys ready to roll. His comment the other day about not practicing well has me nervous.
tech does look terrible. Oregon doesn't look that much better but they are winning
OMFG is this an awful game to watch? Ugly, ugly football.
I'm not counting ASU and BSU from last year, but even without those two, bye teams are about to be 0-4 in game 1.
That gives me some pause. Bama obviously has talent, and DeBoer didn't become a chump in the last 3 years.
But, the rain might help us. We can run the ball. Can Bama? That's what I'll be watching for early.
Last year, we were a good team, but we didn't look like we belonged against OSU and ND. This year? We looked like we belonged against Oregon and OSU. If we come out early and we don't look like we belong, because of rust or talent, I will get worried very fast.
@dbmhoosier Coach speak I think. I think he does a lot of messaging and wanted them to be hungry (and humble) and believe they can do better.
@hoosiers94 Same reaction I had to Bama v OK last week. Sloppiest game I'd seen all year.
I can't control anything, so I'm not going to waste energy worrying. Besides, I've got my same sweatshirt, hat and beer glass for the game, so I'm feeling good about it.

When I was a student I thought it wouldn’t get better than upsetting barely ranked MSU. Here we are now.
Let’s go get it!!! GO IU!!!

Sometimes the pretty boys with all the press clippings get rattled when punched in the mouth.

I was there for the Mallory years in the late 80s. I was afraid those might have been the salad days.
