@thehoosierhuddle Elijah Kimble would be a huge get. I think he winds up as a consensus top 100 prospect after this year, only thing really holding him back right now is 247 who hasn’t updated their ranking in a while. Explosive back who can play 3rd downs
RB is the position I would most be good with paying a premium for, for a HS prospect. Realistically can see the field and produce immediately. With how much Cig/Shanahan like to run the ball, getting explosive athletes at that position makes all the more sense

Maybe you'd be comfortable with it, but the question is "is Cig?" Look at how many freshman have played meaningful minutes. He's going to keep building the foundation through HS recruiting, but I don't think many freshman are likely to come in and play first year.
I would guess it is probably easier to find a good/serviceable RB than it is to find other positions (trenches, etc). Guessing the overspending is going to be more focused on the harder to fill positions.
