Pretty sure I heard the two teams in the championship game have five more days, after the game, to deal with the portal.
Yeah, I believe that to be the case.
For those that don’t know Wiltfong usually does a podcast on YouTube called the Wiltfong Whiparound. You can often get recruiting details that they only share behind a paywall.
as far as Alberto, he has 3 years of eligibility remaining. He is still young. It would be a huge risk to leave just to start when he only needs to be patient 1 more year and then will have up to 2 to be the main guy here. I don’t fault him for wanting to play, but patience in a top program is a virtue. Ty Simpson sat for 3 years at Alabama before starting. We are not obligated to start players who demand it when they aren’t ready to lead the team at a championship level. Alberto is capable of being a top QB, but if he was ready they wouldn’t have brought in Hoover. I think he would be wise to stay, but that’s up to him. I’m not going to worry about the QB position. The biggest worry was it being a distraction for Fernando, but it obviously wasn’t as it’s been news for weeks that IU was bringing in a QB through the portal and Fernando has still performed extremely well.
Isn’t the Gowers punter a grandfather? 😂😂
No, but I do think the clincher to IU signing him was the NIL deal they did for him with, Just For Men.

Are you not familiar with the principle of delayed gratification? It's a concept brought up in stoicism by the Stoics. C'mon, I thought everyone knew that!

- Championship Exception: Players on the two teams in the CFP National Championship get an extra five days, Jan 20-24, to enter the portal after their season ends.
Yes, you are correct
Stoicism? That's what Coach Cig practices on the sideline during games.patience in a top program is a virtue

@thehoosierhuddle Looks like 16 players Sammy not 14 but what's important is they are all Indiana Hoosiers!
Kudos to Hoosier Huddle! Great articles and information on keeping the Hoosier Faithful in the know regarding this epic football season!!!
@thehoosierhuddle echo that sentiment. I went through a weird limbo after that other site was yanked out from under you all, but I’m very thankful to have rediscovered Hoosier Huddle. Appreciate having a place to talk IUFB with likeminded fools.
@kkott I did pick up on this as well in real time watching the game & said so to my wife. The timing of when she looked annoyed was right around when I announced to the fam we should see Alberto. I was annoyed that all of the starters weee left in. It’s not unreasonable to think the Mendozas really wanted their son to get on the field, & also remove their other from the chance of injury given the situation.
@oneeyedundertaker Yeah, I can understand that, and based on history, we normally would've seen Alberto. I guess I'm greedy but I wanted to see him come in and rip off another 50+ yard run! Many in our area were chanting for him. I think the timing was just a bit off and he didn't want to trot him out there with under a minute left.
I was listening to a "legit" podcast, and I heard that Miami offered Ty Simpson $6M+ to play there next year. Wtf? If he's worth that, Mendoza would be worth $8M on the open market.
The Portal/NIL is out of control.
That should be the official name of this site. Perfection.@thehoosierhuddle echo that sentiment.
