OSU was poking around here, and I'm sure other schools were too since that's how it works, so this is good news.

@tammany Good to see. My skeptic mind thinks that none of these recruitments are ever really "shut down". OSU rolls up with an Escalade packed with OSU levels of money, and most kids and families reopen the recruitment. But, no matter, its good to hear Cig and the program are getting kids this caliber to be as bought in as it sounds this one is.
Good to see he is still with us at this point though.
@tammany Ohlinger is shooting up the recruiting boards, not surprised to see. On3/Rivals keeps increasing his ranking, he is up to #104 on their board. Close to being the highest rated player to ever sign with IU (Dasan was in the 70s or 80s I believe).
@thehoosierhuddle Not sure if I missed it on this board, but do you know which prospects are attending this game? I saw on social media that Jalen Brewster (#1 DL 2027) will be in attendance for tomorrows game
Edit: Nevermind, I see the article you put out that answers my question. Awesome group of prospects!
@thehoosierhuddle I forgot to ask last week - do we know how the Monshun Sales visit went?
The On3 crystal ball has us as slight favorites over Michigan, but that doesnt make sense to me given what Ive read, it sounds like OSU and ND are higher in the pecking order.
@hoosierdaddy I have not talked to him. I’ll try and find out.
@thehoosierhuddle I know OSU is going hard for him, and man is that going to be tough to beat their pitch. They are unquestionably WRU. Hopefully having Purcell already committed helps. Would be really nice if ESPN would get around to rating Purcell so he would be the consensus 4* everyone knows him to be. He has a real shot at being a 5* with a strong season this year.
Edit: Just looked up the rankings, Purcell is still a 4* (top 400) recruit despite having no rating from ESPN. Thats incredible. Even a 3* from ESPN would push him top 300.
Ohio State offered Jadyn Williams. It has to be frustrating for IU to see bigger name programs try to poach their recruits. This is what happened with Luke Fahey too.
It's college football.
- All our good commits will keep getting recruited by other schools until signing day
- Around and during the portal all the good players on our roster will be tampered with
- When coaching jobs open our coaches may get interviewed
Most schools have to deal with this. Our staff/AD knows it and we've handled it well.
@iugradman Hope he stays, but cant blame a kid for picking his dream school, no different than Timmons flipping to FSU. Im more annoyed about how they bumped Timmons up to an elite prospect, and will probably do the same with Williams, once the brand attached to the commitment flips.
