Hoosiers Stun Badgers 20-14 in a Thriller

Written by: TJ Inman

Wisconsin entered today’s game tied for first in the Big Ten West and fresh off of a tightly-contested game against the Ohio State Buckeyes. The Badgers were heavily favored over an IU team that was 0-5 in Big Ten play and limping towards the end of the campaign. Despite every sign pointing another Big Ten loss for the home team, the Hoosiers played their best game of the season and knocked off the Wisconsin Badgers 20-14 behind a stellar performance from the IU defense and a strong first half from the offense.

Indiana may have even surprised itself with the position they were in to close the game. Just last week, Tom Allen admitted he and his team felt the season “slipping away.” Now, the Hoosiers’ Josh Sanguinetti had forced Drew Allar to throw the first interception of his career and returned it back to the 21-yard line; miraculously, with five minutes left to play, the Hoosiers had the ball and were down just 3 points, 24-21.

Hopeless: Rutgers Grinds Down Hoosiers 31-14 in Homecoming Romp

On a gorgeous afternoon in Bloomington, the Indiana Hoosiers hosted the Rutgers Scarlet Knights in a critical Homecoming contest. IU entered the contest at 2-4 and in desperate need of a victory to try and put the season and the Tom Allen era back on the tracks. Rutgers had other plans, using two critical special teams mistakes from IU and a dominant ground attack to grind out a comfortable 31-14 victory and earn bowl eligibility. The Hoosiers dropped to 2-5 with the defeat and there appear to be no answers on how to turn things around for Indiana football.

It was never going to be an easy task for Indiana to go into the Big House and steal a victory from national-championship-hopeful Michigan. Heck, the Fox Broadcast even showed a graphic showing that the last time Indiana had won at Michigan, Tom Allen was not even born.

The Indiana Hoosiers dominated the first quarter against the second-ranked Michigan Wolverines. They ran 17 plays, scored seven points, outgained Michigan 141-17 and became the first team to lead Michigan at the end of the first quarter in 2023. However, football games are four quarters and Michigan outscored IU 52-0 the rest of the way.

Hapless Hoosiers Shelled By Terrapins 44-17

The Indiana Hoosiers and Maryland Terrapins have played very entertaining games for the majority of the time they have clashed in the Big Ten. That was decidedly not the case on Saturday in College Park as Maryland had its way with the Indiana Hoosiers and pulled away for a 44-17 victory to drop IU to 2-3 on the season. IU entered the game needing a positive response after a concerning performance against Akron but Maryland jumped all over the Hoosiers and cruised to a dominant victory.
