#14 Indiana Travels to Louisville in a Matchup Between Two 3-0-0 Squads

The Indiana Hoosiers Men’s Soccer Program is off to a blazing start to the 2026 campaign. After beating Notre Dame in the home opener and thrashing Evansville in the next game, the Hoosiers then beat a third school from Indiana in the Butler Bulldogs, winning 1-0 this past Thursday after accounting for 33 total shots in the match.

As fellow Hoosier Huddle contributor Ashton Enlow wrote regarding the Butler match (linked above), the Hoosiers need to work on their finishing ability in the final third of the field. 33 shots (15 on target) is fantastic. Honestly, it is National Champion-caliber levels of creation from the Hoosiers. However, generating just one goal from those chances in a tough pill to swallow. Head Coach Todd Yeagley, his staff, and the players all know this. No doubt they are working as you read this to improve chance conversion. I don’t think this will be a problem throughout the season, but it is certainly something to simply keep an eye on.

Next, the Hoosiers travel to Louisville, Kentucky to take on the undefeated Cardinals. They are 3-0-0, matching the record the Hoosiers boast, and have wins over IU Indy (2-1), Kentucky (3-2), and Lipscomb (3-1). They lead the ACC standings as of this writing and will be entering this game with their hair on fire facing their first ranked opponent of the season – especially in front of a home crowd.

My Prediction

I’ve been pretty solid thus far on predictions in 2026, if I do say so myself. Why stop the momentum now? This is a difficult prediction for me as Louisville is a good program and Indiana is playing their first away game of the season, but I’ll take Indiana by a score of 2-1.
