In Saturday’s matchup against Ball State, Indiana’s offense was inconsistent. Missed tackles costed the Hoosiers more points than it should have, and it was none other than Logan Justus that saved them from falling at Lucas Oil Stadium.

The redshirt senior kicker put up the first points of the game with his 48-yard field goal in the first quarter. Offensive hiccups set the Hoosiers back in the second quarter, and Justus was right there to pick up the slack. He got the job done in a smooth fashion, kicking a successful 30-yarder and a last-minute 49-yarder to cushion the Hoosiers 16-10 going into halftime.

When asked if he felt any pressure, his response was as confident as it gets— “I don’t feel any pressure. The team trusts me and I trust them,” Justus explained, “I knew the offense would get the ball down there and we would all do our own job.”

He was called to finish the job with a few minutes to go, and proved himself once again, upping his career-high for the third time in the game with a 50-yard field goal. Those three points brought the Hoosiers ahead 34-24, and to celebration at the victory buzzer.

Justus ended a perfect 4-4 for field goals and was successful in both extra point kicks. He ultimately put Indiana over Ball State, and did so in a swift, confident manner. Justus continues to prove himself to be a reliable kicker, someone crucial for Indiana’s offensive success all season long.
