Tyler Green, DB, DeMatha Catholic HS, Hyattsville, MD, 247 Sports Composite Ranking: 3-Star

When asked what the most important thing he was looking for in a school during an interview with SB Nation Recruiting last summer, Green said, “I just want it to feel like I’m home, feel like I have a family that’s going to take care of me…have a father-son relationship with some of these coaches.” Apparently the talented athlete from Maryland found what he was looking for at Indiana. After being committed to the Buckeyes for nearly six months, Green decided on December 9th to open up his recruitment and give his other options a look. It only took five days and an official visit to Bloomington before he declared on December 14th via twitter that he would be joining the Hoosiers. A wiry strong defensive back with good instincts and great athleticism, Green should provide the Hoosiers with an infusion of talent in a secondary that is looking to replace three starters. In a Scout.com Spotlight Video, Green is quick to point out that his speed is his greatest strength and that he is a “very fast player, very physical.” At 6-foot 3, 185 pounds, Green makes for a particularly interesting prospect at cornerback. As wide receivers continue to grow larger, teams are constantly on the lookout for bigger-bodied corners to neutralize the receivers’ size. In the 2015 class, Green is ranked 31st at safety nationally and is the 13th best player in Maryland. In addition to Indiana and Ohio State, he also had offers from Charlotte, Hawaii, Maryland, Nevada, N.C. State, and Virginia.
