IU Kicker Charles Campbell Picks up Two Awards After Big Game Against Rutgers

Redshirt sophomore kicker Charles Campbell received a pair of rewards this week after connecting on three field goals and four extra points in the Hoosiers 37-21 win over Rutgers last Saturday. Campbell was named a Lou Groza Award “Star of the Week” and was name Big Ten Special Teams Player of the Week.

Nov. 02, 2020 (WEST PALM BEACH) - College football’s top kicking award, the Palm Beach County Sports Commission Lou Groza Collegiate Place-Kicker Award presented by the Orange Bowl recognizes three of the top kickers each week from FBS division teams as the “Stars of the Week.”

Kicker Charles Campbell made three field goals in a game for the first time in his short career in Indiana’s 37-21 road defeat of Rutgers in Piscataway, N.J. on Saturday. The sophomore from Jackson, Tenn. connected from 42, 31 and 28 yards out, as well as all four of his PAT tries. In the Hoosiers’ two games this season, Campbell has yet to miss a kick, going 5-for-5 on field goals 6-for-6 on extra points. He has made a 40+ yard field goal in all four games of his career. Campbell leads Indiana in team scoring with 21 points.
