Three days, three commitments. On Friday, IU landed one of their top defensive line targets as Jeramy Passmore. On Saturday, the Hoosiers added offensive lineman Matthew Bedford to the 2019 class. On Sunday, Larry Tracy, a longtime target of the coaching staff from Decatur Central in Indianapolis, Indiana committed to the Hoosiers and helped cap a strong weekend for IU football recruiting. Tracy is a 5’11” cornerback that held offers from Purdue, Minnesota, Iowa and Cincinnati among others but elected to stay home and be a Hoosier. The speedy defensive back is the sixth member of the 2019 class and he has a composite ranking of 86 (on a scale of 100) on 247Sports.com.

It has truly been a blessing and humbling experience to go through the recruiting process. I want to take the time to thank every coach, every teacher and every role model for pushing and always expecting the best out of me. It has truly help me become the great young man that I am today. To my Father, you are my Rock. Your guidance is the biggest blessing God has ever given me I thank you for every work out you ever put me through, every speech you gave me, every camp you took me to, I wouldn’t be here today without you. To my Mother, my best friend, thank you for always giving me the encouragement and telling me how proud you are of me. You have helped push me push along in this process and pushed me to remain humble. After all that being said, I will be taking my talents and furthering my education at Indiana University. Its ALWAYS BEEN HOME AND IT ALWAYS WILL BE!

The Indianapolis native originally committed to Iowa in the summer of 2017 and the fact that his cousin is a freshman running back for the Hawkeyes seemed to have locked up to head to Iowa City. However, he reopened the recruitment earlier this year and has now elected to be a Hoosier. He has started all three seasons of his high school career and in his junior season, he had 86 tackles with five fumbles recoveries and three interceptions. The Hoosiers likely won’t take a large amount of corners in this class but Tracy was near the top of their wish list and securing another top in-state talent is a plus. The 2019 class is early in the making but another very well-regarded class is being assembled by Tom Allen and his staff.
