COUNTDOWN TO KICKOFF: 13 DAYS (#13 Larry Tracy III)

Height: 5’11”

Weight: 175 pounds

Hometown: Indianapolis, Indiana (Decatur Central)

Only 13 days remain until the long-awaited 2019 Indiana football season. The Hoosiers will make their season debut at Lucas Oil Stadium where they will take on the Ball State Cardinals on August 31st in a noon game. Today we will introduce a freshman cornerback who will wear the No. 13 jersey— Larry Tracy III.

If you follow Indiana high school football, Tracy sounds familiar. He earned his 3-star rank from 247Sports with his outstanding high school performance— Tracy recorded 292 tackles, 218 solo, four sacks, 31 TFLs, eight interceptions, 28 pass breakups, 11 fumble recoveries, eight forced fumbles and three blocked field goals as a defensive back for Decatur Central High School. He led the Hawks to conference championships all four years, and to its first state title his senior year— when he caught 14 passes for 205 yards and a touchdown. He was named to the 2018 All-USA Indiana team as a result.

Tracy was ranked the No. 6 prospect in the state of Indiana by Rivals and was one of the first to commit from the Class of 2019. Out of all the talent brought in Indiana football’s highest-ranked recruiting class ever, Tracy tops the list as one of the players expected to make a significant mark as a Hoosier the next four years.

Tracy’s had his first taste of college football as he moved to Bloomington for classes last semester and practiced with the team all Spring. He’s got experience and talent to his advantage going into his freshman year, joined by Tiawan Mullen, a dynamic duo to back up Hoosier pass defense the next four years.
