The Hoosier Huddle NFL recap continues as six former Indiana players were active on the last weekend of October. We saw some solid performances across the board and another week to get healthy for the rest of the IU crew. Let’s take a look around the league and see how these ex-Hoosiers performed.

Rodger Saffold, LG, Tennessee Titans (5-1)

Rodger Saffold and the Tennessee Titans undefeated season took a dent on Sunday against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Down 24-7 to start the second half, the Titans rallied back to bring it to a one-score game. With under two minutes to go, Tennessee was driving into Steeler territory, but their drive stalled out before they could get into the red zone. Stephen Gostkowski missed a 45-yard kick that would’ve send the game into overtime. The Titans look to rebound next week against the Cincinnati Bengals.

Jordan Howard, RB, Miami Dolphins (3-3)

Jordan Howard and the Miami Dolphins were off with a bye week. Howard has been in and out of the lineup in his first year with Miami. Hopefully a week of rest will revitalize his 2020 season.

Tevin Coleman, RB, San Francisco 49ers (4-3)

Tevin Coleman has been inactive since Week 2 with a sprained knee. The 49ers picked up a big win in his absence to get their record back over .500. San Francisco should still be battling for playoff position by the time Coleman returns to the field.

Nate Sudfeld, QB, Philadelphia Eagles (2-4-1)

Nate Sudfeld was inactive for the Eagles comeback win over the Giants.

Dan Feeney, LG, Los Angeles Chargers (2-4)

Dan Feeney and the Chargers picked up a much needed win this week as the Chargers defeated the Jaguars 39-29. LA may have fond something special in rookie QB Justin Herbert. The first-year signal caller made some big time throws to put his team over the top as Feeney and his fellow lineman paved the way. The Chargers travel to Denver next week where they’ll try to build on this momentum.

Ian Thomas, TE, Carolina Panthers (3-4)

Ian Thomas caught one pass for 11 yards as the Carolina Panthers suffered a close loss to the New Orleans Saints. Thomas now has seven receptions for 50 total yards and a touchdown on the season. The young athletic tight end is waiting to break out any week now. Carolina hopes to get back on track this Thursday against the Falcons.

Wes Martin, OL, Washington Football Team (2-5)

Wes Martin was active but did not see the field for the second straight week. Washington improved to 2-5 on the season. Martin hopes to work his way back into the offensive line rotation.

Brandon Knight, OL, Dallas Cowboys (2-5)

The Cowboys nightmare season continues, and Brandon Knight has been placed on injured reserve. Dallas fell to 2-5 and it was announced earlier in the week that Knight underwent knee surgery on Tuesday and is expected to miss a couple of weeks.

Nick Westbrook-Ikhine, WR, Tennessee Titans (5-1)

Nick Westbrook-Ikhine and the Tennessee Titans suffered their first loss of the season but not without a fight. Westbrook-Ikhine did not record a statistic in the game. After catching a clutch pass on a two-point conversion in the fourth quarter last week, the former IU wideout hopes to get more involved in the offense as we approach the second half of the season.

Jason Spriggs, OT, Chicago Bears (5-2)

Jason Spriggs was active in an emergency backup role for the Bears loss on Monday Night Football to the LA Rams.

Simon Stepaniak, OL, Green Bay Packers (5-1)

Simon Stepaniak was inactive for the Packers as they comfortably defeated the Houston Texans on the road. The rookie offensive lineman will continue to wait his turn in 2020 as he gets acclimated to the NFL.

Tegray Scales, LB, Tampa Bay Buccaneers (5-2)

Former standout linebacker Tegray Scales was signed to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers practice squad a few weeks ago. The former Hoosier great will have a chance to work his way onto the gameday roster.

Total Hoosier Touchdowns: 4 (Jordan Howard 3, Ian Thomas 1)
