Indiana offensive coordinator Mike DeBord moved to replace former quarterbacks coach Shawn Watson as the Hoosiers have reportedly hired Nick Sheridan for the now vacant position. The hire was rumored on Friday morning and Indy Star reporter Zach Osterman confirmed it on Friday afternoon. Sheridan has spent the past three years working under DeBord as an offensive graduate assistant at the University of Tennessee. Prior to that, he played quarterback at the University of Michigan from 2006-2009. Part of his time in Ann Arbor was under Mike DeBord's tutelage. After graduating, Sheridan moved on to coaching positions at Western Kentucky and South Florida before joining DeBord at Tennessee. He was hired by Central Michigan in January to coach running backs before reportedly accepting the quarterbacks coach job in Bloomington.

The Hoosiers still have one vacant position on the coaching staff and Tom Allen recently said he hoped to fill the open offensive line coaching spot in the very near future. Sheridan will work with returning senior Richard Lagow along with underclassmen Peyton Ramsey, Austin King and Nick Tronti as IU hopes to cut down on turnovers and return to having one of the nation's top offenses.
