While IU suffered another heartbreaking defeat on Saturday in East Lansing, Tom Allen and his staff continue to find success on the recruiting trail. Today, they landed the commitment of TJ Ivy, a 3-star tight end who had previously committed to West Virginia University. The 6'5" senior from Marist, Illinois chose IU quickly after decommitting and he joins Matt Bjorson as the tight ends in the 2018 recruiting class. Ivy's commitment comes just two days after IU received a pledge from athletic linebacker Cam Jones.

Ivy is a strong receiver that has lined up all over the field for his Marist High School squad in Chicago. Once he fills out some and adds a bit of strength, he projects as a logical successor to Ian Thomas at the tight end position and his addition to this class is a big one.
