While the current Hoosiers were loosening up on the practice field, a future Hoosier was cementing his commitment to head coach Kevin Wilson and his staff. Chris Henderson and his family were on campus Thursday to learn more about the Hoosier program and evidently they liked what they saw. Henderson is the 10th commit for the class of 2016.
Henderson is a 3-star defensive end according to 247 Sports Composite rankings. He is listed as the 153rd best prospect in Georgia and the 77th overall prospect in Georgia. He played his high school ball at Lovejoy in Hampton, GA. At 6-4 Henderson has the body type that Wilson wants in his recruits. He plays mostly with his hand on the ground and has the speed to beat blocks around the edge. He has a high motor and will chase down ball carriers far from the line of scrimmage.
Henderson's commitment pushes the Hoosiers up three spots to 66th nationally according to 247 Sports and puts them out of the cellar to 13th in the Big Ten. He was recruited by defensive assistants Larry McDaniel and Brandon Shelby. Henderson also had offers from Louisville, Middle Tennessee, South Alabama, and Old Dominion.
