Countdown to Kickoff: 69 Days (Blake Biesen)

Welcome to the Sunday Edition of Countdown to Kickoff, where we continue to bring you information about each of the athletes that will be representing Indiana University on the gridiron this fall. Now 69 days away from getting the 2015 campaign started, we take a look at number 69, offensive lineman Blake Biesen.

The Valparaiso, In. native redshirted his first year at Indiana, after joining the team as a walk-on last summer. Biesen, 6-foot-4, 295-pounds, played his prep ball at Valparaiso High School, where he was two time All-State selection. According to his recruiting profile on nwitimes.com, Biesen's favorite college team growing up was the Hoosiers, being a professional taste tester would be his dream job, and he is also musically-inclined, capable of playing the guitar.

Future Outlook

The Hoosiers offensive line has easily been one of the team's most consistent units since Wilson and his staff arrived on campus, and this season will be no different. With the return of multiple starters along the line, finding playing time will be a difficult task this fall. However, Wilson has shown a propensity to play walk-ons if they deem themselves capable of contributing to the team's success. For instance, Collin Rahrig joined the Hoosiers as a walk-on, but proved himself early on in his career and was an main cog along the interior of the line the last few years. While Biesen is unlikely to see playing time this fall, there could be an opportunity in the future. At the very least he will be a contributor on Indiana's scout team.
