The Hoosier Huddle Countdown is in full swing! We are exactly 91 days from kickoff in Madison. Today we feature the Hoosier who will wear the No. 91 jersey in the upcoming season, Jeramy Passmore.

Name – Jeramy Passmore

Year / Hometown: Redshirt Freshman from Miami, Florida (Christopher Columbus)

Position – Defensive Line

Height – 6’3”

Weight – 277 pounds

Hailing from Miami, Florida, Jeramy Passmore committed to Indiana as an early member of 2019’s highest-ranked recruiting class. Passmore totaled 57 tackles, 13 tackles for loss, and 10 sacks in his senior season to help Christopher Columbus to the Florida state title game. Not only was he a three-star defensive lineman (247 Sports), but also a dedicated basketball player and honor roll student.

When Passmore visited Bloomington for the first time, the LEO atmosphere is what sealed the deal for him at IU. “They talked about how important family is for them, and how they have a strong bond with the players” Passmore told Peeg.com’s Matt Weaver, “They have a genuine love for their players. Those are important things for me because if I went there I would be spending the next four years of my life with people that really care about me, and I know they would stick with me through thick and thin. I could tell that they really care about me as a person and a player.”

Passmore was joined by familiar faces in Bloomington— by his former teammate, tight end Gary Cooper and former workout partner James Head when he made the 1,000 mile move from Florida.

“We’ve (Cooper) been friends for a long time, so he’s like a brother to me. Bringing him up here with me, it feels like I’m still at home,” Passmore said.

Passmore made an immediate impact for the team as scout team player of the week in the 2019 season opener against Ball State. He suffered a season-ending ACL injury last fall that prevented him from participating in anything more than drill work for what little spring ball the Hoosiers were able to hold before Coronavirus swept the nation.

As you can see, during this pandemic Passmore has been putting in work for what will be a battle for time on the defensive line. According to the 2020 IU football roster, Passmore has packed on seven pounds in the offseason. His nearing return to campus shines an opportunity for development at the hands of new defensive line Kevin Peoples, that will likely translate to increased team contributions and college debut.
